SECTION 1.

Mr. Mux Müller to Sir Edward Grey.-(Received April 15.)

(No. 75.) (Telegraphic.) P.

YOUR telegram No. 62 of yesterday.

Peking, April 15, 1910.

I understand that Sir R. Bredon's resignation was offered two days ago verbally, and I would suggest that, if it is officially confirmed, the objections to the Prince's visit might be withdrawn.

With regard to assurances as to future contingencies in Macao and eventual arbitration in the Chinese Engineering and Mining Company's case, I have neither received nor requested any at this end, but have confined myself to offering such suggestions as seemed likely to help in facilitating a solution. I consider that any such assurances should be given to you by the Chinese Minister in London, as negotiations have been carried on there.
